Risk Based Inspection

Risk Based Inspection (RBI) is the process of developing an inspection plan based on knowledge of the risk of failure of equipment. RBI analysis can be qualitative, quantitative or semi-quantitative.

Risk Based Inspection services involve the development and implementation of inspection programs in accordance with API 580 and API 581. This methodology prioritizes inspection activities based on the risk level of each equipment item.

By focusing inspection resources on high-risk components, RBI improves inspection effectiveness while optimizing cost and inspection intervals. This approach enhances safety, ensures regulatory compliance, and supports long-term asset integrity management.
